Natasi Daala was a Human female Admiral in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War. Notably, she was the only female officer to achieve such a high rank under the openly sexist regime of Emperor Palpatine. This was largely due to her decades-long secret affair with Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, who protected and promoted her.

Prior to the Battle of Yavin, Daala was assigned by Tarkin to the secret Maw Installation, where she commanded a research and development facility focused on superweapons. Isolated for years, she was unaware of the Empire's decline and the destruction of the Death Star.

Following Tarkin's death, Daala emerged from isolation and launched a campaign to consolidate the remaining Imperial forces and eliminate Rebel Alliance targets. While initially successful in her aggressive tactics, including destroying several New Republic cruisers, her leadership style and strategic miscalculations ultimately led to her downfall.

Despite her failures, Daala remained a powerful figure in the fragmented Imperial Remnant, eventually becoming Chief of State of the Imperial Remnant. She was known for her ruthless efficiency and dedication to the Empire's ideals, even in its twilight years.
